Every conversion tool on Toolwyn (HEIC to JPG, PDF merge, image compress, MP4 to MP3, JSON formatter, unit converter) runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript. Your files are read locally on your device, converted locally, and the result is offered to you as a direct download from your own browser. At no point is a file you upload to a Toolwyn tool transmitted to our servers or any third-party server for processing. You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and run a conversion — no file upload request will appear.
HWP (Hangul Word Processor) files use a complex, compressed binary format that no browser can decode on its own — there is no reliable way to convert HWP entirely on your device. For this one tool only, your file is uploaded to our server, converted, and the result is streamed back to you. The uploaded file and every intermediate file created during conversion are deleted immediately afterward — nothing is stored, logged, or retained. This is the only tool on Toolwyn that works this way; every other tool listed above never sees your file at all.
We use standard, privacy-respecting analytics (page views, which tool pages are visited, approximate country/browser/device type) to understand which tools are useful and where errors occur. This data is aggregate and is not linked to the contents of any file you convert, because your files never reach us in the first place. If a page includes an optional "Report a problem" button, using it may send us your browser/OS version and an error message to help us fix bugs — it does not send your file.
Toolwyn is supported by advertising. Our ad provider (Google AdSense, once enabled) may set cookies to serve relevant ads and measure ad performance. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, and where required by law (for example under the EU/EEA GDPR) we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
For every tool except HWP to PDF, we never receive your files, so there is nothing for us to delete, export, or disclose on that front. For HWP to PDF, files are deleted immediately after conversion as described above and are never retained, so the same applies in practice.
